Ellen Harrison

I qualified with a Foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2018, before spending 4 years in a small animal first opinion/exotics referrals practice as an RVN, then Lead RVN.

In 2022, I made the leap into referral nursing at Swift Referrals, working as a rotational nurse across wards, internal medicine and surgery. I’ve always had a strong interest in emergency and critical care and completed my certificate in this area in 2023. Nursing the most poorly animals and seeing them recover day by day is by far the most rewarding part of nursing!

In 2025, I moved into the role of Business Relationship Manager, combining my passion for delivering the best care for our patients, with my love of having a good natter. My hands-on knowledge of Swift’s clinical work is invaluable when working with our referring vets  to make sure their experience with us is smooth, supportive and truly collaborative. I have also since completed a further qualification in Digital Marketing, to aid in ensuring Swift’s online presence is as accessible and seamless as possible.

Whether I’m out visiting practices, solving problems behind the scenes, or finding new ways to strengthen partnerships, my goal is always the same: to make life easier for our referring colleagues and ensure every patient gets the best possible care!

Outside of work, I can be found spoiling my two rescue cats, Chewie and Lydia, on days out with my husband, or attempting to renovate our home with little to no knowledge on what we are doing!
