Emergency and Critical Care Vet

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic first opinion vet in a dedicated Emergency and Critical Care practice near Wetherby, North Yorkshire.  

We provide emergency and out of hours cover for local practices in our purpose built practice housing a large ICU unit, separate cat, dog and isolation kennels, in house lab including blood gasses, digital XR and ultrasound. CT and MRI facilities are available in a referral centre next door where we can refer patients needing specialist care.   

You will be working alongside a surgical certificate holder and a dynamic team of experienced qualified nurses and animal care assistants with a dedicated night team already in place. 

Weekends ooh will be on a 1: 3 rota system.

Swift Referrals boasts a dynamic, loyal and supportive team of 55 staff in North Yorkshire. The hospital has fantastic equipment available including 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy and state-of-the-art operating theatres in a supportive hospital environment.

Applicant Requirements

To be considered for this role you will need to have a RCVS Registration and previous small animal medical and routine surgical experience preferred, but not essential. Excellent communication skills supporting the Referral Clinicians and Veterinary Team and a team player who is dedicated to providing a high-quality service and care.
