Veterinary Surgeon

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join us at Swift Referrals. This is a role working alongside experienced, specialist led, referral clinicians, to help facilitate excellent client and patient care. This would suit a clinician looking to develop their skills and experience in a busy referral hospital. Duties would include scrubbing into surgery, helping our medical team work up patients, care of hospital patients, client communication-updating owners and the discharge of patients. Some out of hours cover for nights and weekends on a rota will be required (there are night Vets and there would always be a Referral Clinician in support for out of hours cases). Performing advanced imaging-MRI and CT and the triage of emergency cases would also form part of the role. There would also be an excellent opportunity for primary case responsibility in our new Emergency and Critical Care centre opening June 2021. Details of working hours and rota detailed below.
•    4 days per week (10-hour shifts)
•    1:6 weekends
•    1 evening on call per week

Applicant Requirements

To be considered for this role you will need to have a RCVS Registration and previous small animal medical and routine surgical experience preferred, but not essential. Excellent communication skills supporting the Referral Clinicians and Veterinary Team and a team player who is dedicated to providing a high-quality service and care.

Neurologist

The Role

We are looking for a Neurologist to join our team full time. This role will be based in our modern 24 hour referral hospital in Wetherby, North Yorkshire. The 40 hours a week will be across 4 days with a regular day off each week. The requirement will be to participate in a weekend on call rota for 1:6 weekends. We have a dedicated night team. The role will involve consulting with clients, imaging the patients and then surgery where required.

Applicant Requirements

We are currently looking for a Board certified, Royal College specialist Neurologist. Ideally you will have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary hospital with various other disciplines. Good client communication is essential. Experience in running CT and MRI preferred but not essential.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

The Role

We are in search of more passionate, hard-working and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurses for Swift Referrals. The role is varied and would involve assisting with medical and surgical cases, monitoring anaesthetics and helping with in-patient care. Cleaning tasks would also need to be undertaken including cleaning theatres, autoclaving surgical instruments and setting up for the next day.
•    40-hour week
•    Weekends on a rota
•    Dedicated OOH team already in place

Applicant Requirements

All levels of ability would be considered as the right attitude is the most desirable attribute required. Whilst we continue to grow and restructure our team, we would also be interested to speak to nurses looking for part-time or full-time roles. We would be keen to take on RVNs with either medical or surgical bias, or those still wanting a varied role before deciding which route to take.
